PHONE SCAMMERS STILL AROUND
A 'computer company' sometimes even associating themselves with Microsoft will call you and tell you that your computer has some problems & they will say they can fix the problems for a fee.
There is also a new scam from a computerised voice saying they are from the Tax Office & you have overdue taxes etc.
If you receive a call like this HANG UP. No company can know you have problems on your computer & Microsoft will never call you.
Please be aware.
Live chat is currently unavailable but you can still use the chat box in the bottom right to send me a quick question & I will reply later.
CREDIT CARD FACILITY
I know this will make it a lot easier for many people. I can accept Visa & Mastercard including debit credit & Eftpos cards, however, I will have to charge a small % fee on these transactions to help pay for the convenience. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time & I am very happy to be able to provide this service now.
NEW MALWARE THREAT
You may have heard the news reports of a new virus called Metropoliton Police Virus or Ransomware.
Once your computer is infected it will disable everything & usually leaves you with a white screen where you can't do anything. The villians demand several thousand dollars to unlock your computer. Some businesses have paid them just to get their business back running again.
Several of my customers have had this virus & I have successfully removed it from their system. Be very careful when opening attachments in emails if you're not 100% sure of what it is & be careful when clicking on links in websites.
Windows 10 is here
I have upgraded quite a few computers now with Windows 10 & the feedback has been good. I am also using Windows 10 on my business PC & have no complaints. Microsoft finally got it right after the Windows 8 disaster.
You have until the end of July to take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10 from Microsoft. It is a very large download (over 3 GB)
If you are not comfortable doing the upgrade yourself I can do it for you & configure Windows 10 properly for $60.
